Let's make sure your goal is SMART:Use this checklist to set a good goal.

My goal is SPECIFIC - Whatever you have in your mind, try breaking it into a more specific action that will result in the intended goal. e.g. If "Lose 10 lbs" is your ultimate goal, something like "Bike to work" is a more specific action to achieve your goal.

My goal is MEASURABLE - Make sure your goal is concrete. “Being happier” doesn’t cut it; “Biking to work 3 days a week” is.

My goal is ATTAINABLE - Shooting for the stars is fun, but is that likely to happen? remember to weigh in your goal’s effort, time and other costs. e.g. if takes 75 minutes to bike to work and is along a highway, you may be unfairly setting yourself up for disappointment.

My goal is REALISTIC - Answer truthfully to the questions, “Why do you want to reach this goal? What is the objective behind the goal, and will this goal really achieve that?” What if you have really never liked biking - will you realistically bike to work 3 days a week?

My goal is TIME ANCHORED - Pick a doable date for your goal, because deadlines instill action and accountability.
