Troubleshooting Tips for Internet:
- Ensure that your DHCP and DNS settings are set to auto obtain
Network Places -> Properties -> “Right Click” Local Area connection or Wireless -> Properties -> click “TCP/IP” and press the “Properties” button -> BOTH “Obtain IP Automatically” AND “Obtain DNS automatically” have to be selected.
- Disconnect from wireless, and reconnect
- Ensure your computer is up to date
- Reboot your computer
- If you are connected to wired network, ensure you are using the first ethernet port in on your desk. The second port is not connected to the network
- Do not use personal wireless access points in your room. Not only does this make your internet slower by creating more work for your requests, but it can interfere with the bluesky wireless infrastructure.
Tips for Troubleshooting TV
- Ensure TV is powered on. There is a switch on the back of the TV (right side) that gives the TV actual power. This is separate from the power button that turns on the screen.
- Make sure TV is on the right source. On remote push "source" (top of remote) and ensure it is set to "TV" (very first choice)
- If channels are missing you can do a channel scan by following these steps:
- click menu on remote
- go to right four times to "CH"
- down two and click auto scan
- wil take about 5-10 minutes for scan to complete. Do not interrupt the scan once started! When it is finished it will display picture again.
